Yes, and if you are wanting a plastic to take a bit more wear, I'd say delrin and it works so much better, just a bit more $$, but little difference on such small part

I'd say post it in the category of the most involved details. Say, if you have a basic round part but with a lot of milling detail, put it in milling. If it has a lot of turning detail, and just a couple milled details or off-center holes etc., put it in lathe work. something like that anyway
