Questions about the first job you do for people online.

Of couse you receive favorable credit terms. You have established a good reputation over many years. I'm surprised that so many customers come along who haven't been in business for 20+ years, don't have references, and don't have much info on a D&B credit report. THAT'S when we insist on...

    Aluminum part rfq long term

I guess we will bow out of the bidding. The zip file was apparently corrupted at some point in the process so we haven't even seen the part plan yet. But no worries; we are a busy shop. Thanks for putting this RFQ up on the site. Best wishes, Sam

Questions about the first job you do for people online.

Checking credit worthiness of new customers We have used Dun & Bradstreet to check out new customers. D&B has various reports that range from $100 and up. We usually get a "Business Information Report" which costs about $125 (last time we got one). The BIN is chock full of good info about the...

Four parts, 18 pieces in all.

Possible design change. Hi Joe. Before quoting, I thought I should bring up a change to the collar that would save you machining time (and thus save you money). We want to use a 3-axis mill to make this part. 3-axis time is less costly than using a 4 or 5-axis machine. The most efficient...

PFDs would be helpful Dear Joe: Could you supply the plans in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format? ( NOT "PFD" as shown in subject line. My bad.) If that is a problem for you, we can work with the plans requested by DareBee above. Thanks. Robertson Tool & Mfg. Co. Inc. Hollywood USA

    6150

6150 is a chrome/vanadium alloy. Fairly easy to mill. I got some from Metals Express, no problem.

    RFQ for machined part

Al vs. Steel Using Aluminum will speed the milling process and be easier on tools. Because it's only one part, cost of material is negligable when compared to the labor involved. You may want to simplify the design to save money on the labor. Good luck.

    need some mill work

Your copper plate job Two questions: 1. Will you require that the holes be reamed to size, or will drilled to size be OK? 2. There is a feature on the Cold Plate side view, a tiny square with a horizonal and a vertical line through it. What is this? Thanks. Sam Robertson Robertson Tool & Mfg...
