I don't see how the frame will stay flat.
In my experience stress will change it every time temp and humidity changes.
Not trying to be an ass - I was going to (want to) quote this job until I saw the .005// on the HSS frame.
This design will be VERY expensive.
Maybe I can help next time.
The last job I bid on here (that was local to me). Was made 1000 miles for less than 25% of what I quoted.
I expect this to be the same.
We are really busy, and even if we weren't, I won't work for $15/hour either.
It is a buyers market, for those willing to shop worldwide.
I hope you get good...
Biggest issues are the .030 and the.125 thicknesses.
Flatness is not much of an issue because it will pull flat when screwed onto the surface.
Anyway
Modeling and prints (SolidWorks) to be done in advance and require signed approval $640
1 RH & 1 LH part Anodized Black $7292
Prices in Canadian...
Yes that is right.
Steel will need to be either hardened or chromed as well.
The fact that it is SS is only a VERY small portion of the cost, just that 304 is not hardenable.
The big cost is the precision required for perfect bearing and toolshank fit as well as being balanced.
Remember...
Either way standard sheet is 3003 and 5052 is not cost effective.
14 gauge sheet will typically measure .074 (the mills always manufacture to undersize tolerance to pinch the pennies)
Again - I have to strongly agree with Matt.
I have some jade colour for sure ;-)
- this is VERY familier but it has also made some great relations with people who realize what it is worth and I now do all their work.
I was kinda thinking this too. Around here we typically see customers who...
Yup
For $90 I wouldn't have got far enough along in the project to even turn on the VMC.
It seems you have made a nice part Fokusco.
You have a great learning curve.
