I would point out that dial calipers should not be considered acurate closer than .005" and that a good tenths indicating Mic is accurate to within .0001". Of course that depends on the skill of the user...

There are a lot of good local fab shops that could provide excellent value on low volumes. If you are forecasting larger volumes some tooling might be appropriate.
