Hi All,

This is my first time requesting a quote so please bear with me. First a little background. I've been manufacturing the following part for the last two years from raw material to skin board packaged in my little shop. Well, I never really intended to do production work so I'm now looking for someone to take over the production responsibilities. The following part is actually one of 4 different styles. Each style can have many different sizes, basically the clamp portion of the design can range from 35mm to 54mm. The design is made so that one jig can be used, the center of the clamp never moves, the part grows/shrinks vertically to make up for the different sizes. If there are any questions, you can contact me directly.

As I stated above, I have the capabilities to take the part from any stage of production and finish it so I'm actually looking for four different quotes:

1. The part cutout, I do all the finishing work.
2. The part cutout and the clamp portion finished.
3. The part cutout, clamp portion finished and ready to anodize.
4. Part completed and anodized black.

1) Material type - 6061-T6 aluminum
2) Material quote required.
3) Quantity - This depends on price, if I can mix and match sizes, probably looking at 50 piece batches.
4) Drawings - The part is currently in .prt (ProE) formate, please let me know what format you would prefer, I'm not a ProE wizard so may need your assistance exporting it correctly.
5) Required time frame - I'd like to a bunch of stock ready to ship for spring time, that is our busiest time.
6) RFQ ending time - 1 week.
7) Full contact information - Please send email to tups2483@mypacks.net and I will forward all the contact information.
8) If you the RFQ poster needs help in some of the technical areas then that should be made know initially - Not that I know of.
9) Make known any special treatments/finishes not necessarily related to the machining process - I currently have a wet tumbler and dry tumbler, the parts are currently anodized from a mirror finish. I don't think this is a requirement for completed parts, just finished well enough to get a good anodized finish for completed parts.

Thank you for your time, if you have any questions please let me know.

Kindest Regards,

Craig

D & D Precision Machining
Hello, could you please forward the drawing to me at ddprecisionmachining@yahoo.com I need to know thickness, width and length so that I can get a quote on material and anodize. What size thread are you using at the clamp? Does the thread need to free of anodized? Thanks Don

Hi Don,

I sent you an email with the files. To answer your questions:

I need to know thickness = 6.35mm, width = ~101.6mm and length = ~133.35What size thread are you using at the clamp? 4mm
Does the thread need to free of anodized? No, it can be either or. Currently, when I anodize them, I have a titanium bracket that goes through the screw hole so currently the threads aren't being anodized but I had a guy anodize them for me and the threads were anodized so it doesn't matter.

Thanks again for your interest,

Craig
