I have 2 parts that I currently cnc from wood
but I would like to go with Aluminium for the
production runs and my cnc is not rigid enough
for milling Aluminium.

This is my first RFQ so please let me know anything
else that is needed.

Summary:

2 parts (Piece#1) and (Piece#2) machined from
T6061 aluminium 6"x1"x3/8" flat stock.

Each piece has one #7 dia through hole that is to
be tapped to 1/4-20.

I currently cut these with a 1/8" dia cutter so <= 1/16 radius
is acceptable for the corners of the .75" x 4.75" notch that is
cut into each piece.

The two 2mm blind holes in each piece are for mounting
a hinge.

No finishing on the parts.

I request approval on the first 2 parts, before
production quantities are milled.

Please quote both Piece#1 and Piece#2 with the #7 dia
hole tapped and untapped for the following quantity:

50
100
250
500

I am hoping to pay <= $15.00 per/piece which includes
material cost.

Attached are .png files showing the top and bottom
of each piece.

I have .stl files if required

Thanks

Kevin

How does a business have no overhead?

That's a great question. We obviously have overhead in the form of tooling and supplies but since we are only two people running the company there are no office personnel or department managers who have high salaries that we have to compensate for in our pricing. So I guess what I should have said that the little overhead we do have isn't passed on to the people we do work for.

Seriously there have been people in here that do have no overhead. You are new, you will learn what jobs to bid and which ones to pass. I have seen one offs with high material costs go for less than the cost of material and it didn't go to China. One guy admitted to using his employer's machinery, material and time and claimed to have permission (yeah, right).
