More Info - Maybe just CNC woodworking
My current plan to finish the audio device is to:
1) Lower the circuit board flush into a wood base.
The rest of the finish is crystal clear acrylic:
2) The back, top and front parts of the lid/cover would be made from one piece of 4mm clear acrylic which is bent into a U shape with a heat line bender. This lid sits on top of the wood base, flush with the front and back of the wood base. The two sides are then made from 9mm thick acrylic 3120 (Ice Blue) or 3215 (darker blue)

The sides have a 3mm deep and 4mm wide channel routed in them to which the one piece lid butts into. The side pieces are screwed to the sides of the wood base and hold it all together.
The sides would end up being 4 or 5 mm higher then the top of the lid, which is a good thing. It will look better raised then flush and helps to keep the top from being scratched if some nut places something large the lid.

If you were to be involved your name would be listed/promoted as the fabricator of the finish. I would pay for materials, shipping and a reasonable amount of labour.
Perhaps you don't want to take on working with acrylic but would like to produce the wood base. That is fine as I plenty of offers from plastics companies to do the acrylic part.
